Loving You
A song that was written for two past loves of my life, one emotional, the other physical. Reflecting upon both, I brought them together in this song.

Love in NYC
So, you've the option to fall for someone who could've been your soul mate? Well, if they happen to be married, have 3 children, a mortgage and live 3,000 miles away, what to say? Hey, lets go blow 12 hours of our lives in NYC and make like forever, because at midnight this affair turns into a pumpkin and we say goodbye.' This is how we spent that last day together, on a bright spring day in NYC.

As the title suggests and so it was for me. This is a 21st Century Country & Western song for the MySpace, Facebook and MSN generation.

Guardian Angel
A friend of mine has always and still does, have a fascination with fairies and angels. The song starts with the question 'is there' and concludes, 'yes there is;' a simple lullaby.

Musically, Frances started out rather young aged 11, re-working both pop songs of the day and Christmas carols, whilst lampooning the Masters of the school. With much glee and amusement, 500 rather tone deaf, spotty pubescent pupils, sang cat like in unison, be it in the dinning hall, classroom or corridor. This was much to the displeasure of the unappreciative teacher being sung about; insult by stealth one might say?

Understandably, Frances's ego swelled with a massive pride and smugness, whilst still seeking out the elusiveness of humility; being a Roman Catholic i.e. big guilty complex.

Her Father bought her a guitar from Frank Hessy's in Liverpool, where the Beatles bought their first proper guitars. If you hail from Liverpool the saying goes, you'll either turn out to be a comedian, a musician or a footballer, she obviously didn't have the legs to be a footballer; thank goodness!

Alack, after more than a year of playing air guitar and noodling around in front of the bedroom mirror, all she could play was the Harry Lime theme on one string; these days she plays guitar behind her head!

A catalytic turn of events came about at 14. Upon encountering a Californian 'Born again' Christian group and in awe of the sheer power of their music and song, decided that she too simply had to have that 'Black magic,' the ability to move people through music.

For the next 14 years, music was to figure strongly in her life, it was her bread and butter, as she busking and travelling the world whilst performing her music.

The 90's were spent writing music for corporate videos, jingles, radio and gigging. Record companies approached, but continually sought to mould her into the 'current sound' of the day, so as to please the masses, it was doomed to failure. Louis Walsh wanted her to sing 'Loving you' for the 'Irish' Eurovision song entry, but was pipped by Johnny Logan; perhaps not such a bad thing?

It was during this time that she was introduced to Art Garfunkel, John Denver, Donavan and Paul Williams, hanging out and jamming with them whenever they'd be passing through town.

Fast-forward to the present; after a rather long sabbatical, Frances is now back to gigging, recording, playing at private viewings, launch parties and festivals.

Her style might best be described as acoustic based, melodic, new folk / soft rock; stacking up lush rich vocal harmonies, with guitars and piano, performing all self penned compositions. The songs may be joyous, passionate or reflective; Frances doesn't do 'angry' songs, disappointed, yes, terribly pissed off, yes, but not some tormented soul.

In the first instance she writes for herself and as well as the obvious pleasure it brings, it's also her own personal therapist.

Never having felt the need to be 'current,' follow a trend, fit in, nor looking for the approval of her peers, she just gets on with what she's good at, her own thing; but can also be found getting on down playing gritty rock n roll too!

This time around it's not for fame nor fortune, she's infamous already and has enough, it's simply art for art's sake. However...potential 'Angels' and 'Patrons of the Arts' are welcome to contact her regarding both present and future projects.
